One of our smallest, yet most active regions, Palau has been working to mainly try and establish sustainable fish resources for their local restaurants. Working with the Ebiil Society, the Palau chapter has been coordinating beach cleanups as well as setting up clubs in their local schools. Simultaneously, they have been working with Debbie Toribiong from the US Embassy to try and create change on a larger scale. By partnering with the app, Our Fish, which tries to track sustainable fishing, they have been setting up events with many local restaurants in order to educate about the necessity of ensuring sustainable fisheries and promoting the use of Our Fish. In this coming year, they hope to expand their efforts and start making changes in local fishing habits.
